Carrie Brostek 200hr RYT, finds passion in teaching classes to help students learn techniques for reducing stress and finding balance within their own lives. She was bound to Yoga and Meditation when she discovered the connection to renewing the spirit that these two disciplines can offer. This led to a spiritual awakening and healing journey of opening the heart and self-acceptance. She also has found the benefits of healing physically through Yoga. Dealing with agonizing neck, shoulder and back injuries for years, Yoga and Meditation has taught her to honor her limitations. She has found peace in surrendering to the competitive mind and tuning in to what the body needs to recover and heal. Her background as an accomplished martial artist, dancer, competitive athlete, fitness instructor and personal trainer signifies her strong desire to provide support and encouragement to individuals who are ready to make positive and everlasting changes in their lives. She is certified through AFAA, ACE and a registered 200 hour Yoga Alliance Teacher.

Carrie Brostek
Her style is influenced by her 200 hour training with Barbara Ruzansky, and her in depth trainings with world renown Yoga and Mindfulness teacher, Sarah Powers. Her classes blend a Yin sequence of long held passive poses combined with an active practice that offers the ability to gain strength and stamina as well as time for self-inquiry to cultivate awareness and evoke wellness. She wants to share her love of Yoga with students and express how the power of transformation starts with opening the heart.

Joe Buyse invites all those who have an interest, .. from the curious beginner to the seasoned practitioner, to develop or perhaps, enhance their meditation practice by starting and ending their work week with this effective sound / vibration experience. The morning meditation allows you to focus on your life's desires .. ( all that you want to create and manifest in your life ) using the vibration and sound of AHhhhhh .. ( which is the sound of creation .. across most cultures / religions, .. going back through time ).

Joe Buyse
Conversely, the evening meditation, ... allows you to let go of your desires and to experience the joyfulness and gratitude for being who you are, .. and where you are .. at this moment using the vibration and sound of OMmmmmm .. ( which is the sound of serenity, peace and harmony ). There are no fees or dues for meditation. The only requirement is your heartfelt interest or desire. Your free-will offering is 100 percent donated towards the purchase of Y.C.C. meditation cushions and supplies.

Kristin Cork After taking my first yoga class 17 years ago, I realized yoga would be forever a part of my life. I knew from that day I wanted to be able to share it with others eventually. Five years later, I felt the effects profoundly change my life, healing me both physically and emotionally and I decided at that point to start training to teach.

Erich Schiffman was my first incredible and influential teacher with the philosophy of Moving into Stillness. This resonates with me as I think that I don't know anyone who doesn't desire more peace, less stress, and a more meaningful relationship with themselves and others. It's about finding the space between each breath and slipping into it whether practicing, meditating, driving, anything at all!

Shiva Rea's influence in her teachings over the last 12 years and The Vinyasa Flow style of teaching for me is a meditation in movement. Its where our physical form meets our emotional and intellectual bodies. Being connected to the breath throughout the practice keeps us present, it keeps me connected to the subtle micro adjustments my body needs to make to find the yin and yang in every pose. Flowing has shaped my practice immensely and is what I take from my practice off the mat and into my life. Staying fluid, inhaling life's inspiration, exhaling the debris. Where the breath is stuck, so is life.

My yin practice found me while living in the mountains of Colorado and I integrate its physical stillness and profound intuitive inquisition into every practice. I thank Sarah Powers and Paul Grilley for my training's and inspiration.

I have always loved traveling and being to Africa and India has  strongly influenced my awareness that it is  important to meet ourselves where we are, as we are, moment to moment. I love cooking and having friends and family over to enjoy the healing energies of food and companionship, time set aside from our busy lives. I am blessed with 3 boys, my husband and best friend, a 4-year old and a 2-year old. They inspire me to be a better Mom and human being than I was yesterday and constantly bring me back to the importance of stepping into the present moment and appreciating the importance of our time with one another in this life.

Anjali Desai has been practicing yoga for a long time, and teaching since 2003.  She recently completed extensive training in India through the Himalayan Institute Teachers Association (HITA) certification program (www.himalayaninstitute.org/).  This certification program is used by many fitness and wellness centers as a benchmark of preparedness to teach in that environment.  The Himalayan Institute Teachers Association is a center for the study of yoga science and philosophy.  HITA is based in Honesdale, PA, where it offers a comprehensive and systematic study of yoga for the past 30 years.
Through HITA, Anjali has learned to draw upon the wisdom of a 5000 year-old tradition with roots in the cave monasteries of the Himalayas. Anjali was very blessed to have met the founder of the Himalayan Institute, H.H. Swami Rama, who was very aware of the importance of yoga teacher training, and taught the first classes for Institute-trained teachers himself.

Anjali Desai
Her practice and teaching is in the Raja Yoga (Royal Path) style. You will learn classical postures with a focus on diaphragmatic breathing, pranayama and a systematic approach to relaxation and meditation.  Through these techniques you will learn to create a resilient body and stable mind.Through yoga, she has found a balance between the inner and the outer worlds, and has developed an acute awareness of her divine path.  When Anjali is not teaching yoga, she is otherwise busy raising three children, helps her husband in the family business, teaches Sunday school, and also is a substitute teacher at the local elementary school in Burlington.

Ann Gorjanc  has been teaching yoga since 1997, certified through the Integrative Yoga Therapy Program, a program that focuses a great deal on the holistic health aspects of yoga. Since I also practice as a Pediatric P.A., this program was a natural fit for me, leading me to discover the complexities of the mind-body connection. My yoga practice has had an incredible influence on my shift away from traditional western medical thinking to being able to see students and patients from a healthier holistic perspective. And along the way, I have developed quite a love of teaching the art and science of yoga. My style of teaching, is like that of being lead through a meditation in motion, with a focus on helping students to develop their "muscles of awareness" through their ongoing

practice. This awareness is brought to the breath and the breath then is the link that guides students to see themselves with the same holistic eye. As their practice strengthens, so does their connection to their physical, their mental and their spirit bodies. And ultimately, this spirit body takes us to the grandest connection of all...that of the life force, the yogic energy, that we share with the whole universe. I invite all students new or seasoned to come and join us.

Pam Hiatt began practicing yoga over nine years ago. Originally drawn to Power Yoga and Ashtanga, she studied with Beryl Bender Birch, Christine Hoar and Brian Kest. A few years ago, she began practicing Anusara Yoga in Avon, CT with Certified Anusara Teacher Julie Miller. The combination of the heart centered philosophy, the Anusara Principles of Alignment, and the community of friends that practice Anusara yoga in the area captured her attention. Before she knew it, she was in a 200 hour teacher training program and unfolding a new level to her practice! Since becoming inspired on her mat by this practice, she has studied with Anusara founder John Friend and other fabulous Certified Anusara teachers such as Desiree Rumbaugh, Andrew Rivin, Amy Ippoliti, Todd Norian and Ann Greene. Upon completion of her 200 hour training in April 2011, Pam hopes to inspire other students to expand on their mat in ways that move beyond the asana alone. She lives in Simsbury, CT with her fiancée Steve, her two children Sophie & Steven and her cat Delilah.

Kathy MCoy's first awakening to yoga began 14 years ago after several severe lumbar disc herniations. She was advised by her doctor “To avoid back surgery, find yourself a good yoga teacher", which she regards as the best piece of advice ever received. It was a life altering experience and so began the journey.

Kathy is a special education para-professional at the elementary school level and has successfully integrated poses and breathing techniques with students in the classroom. She has been practicing yoga for 14 years, completed her 200RYT through Sacred Rivers Yoga Studio and credits her informed practice to many teachers including Paula Scopino, Pema Chodron, Paul Grilley and Jillian Pransky. Kathy believes that a mindful practice of yoga postures has the effect of 're-membering' us--that is, reuniting ourselves with those aspects that have gone astray amid our everyday stressors.

Her personal yoga philosophy: "It is not so much about the movement itself but rather the quality of attention that we bring to the movement, combined with mindful breath awareness, that makes a pose qualify as yoga."

Julie Miller is a Certified Anusara® Yoga Instructor, E RYT 500, and has been practicing yoga for many years, and her love and passion for the practice moves her to want to share the benefits she enjoys with others. She teaches Anusara Yoga with the intention to help students become re-inspired about their lives, reconnect with their innate goodness, feel empowered, and relieve physical and emotional pain. She incorporates the science of the Universal Principles of Alignment, a heart-felt theme which connects the spiritual purposes of yoga to the asana practice to encourage her students to open and strengthen on the inside and out. Her classes are taught in a kula (community) which welcomes all forms of cultural and ethnic backgrounds, and serves all levels of experience and ability. Classes are fun, inspirational, and revitalizing. Julie provides personal attention both during classes, and in private sessions, and offers a warm, safe environment in which to explore the transformational aspects of yoga.
Katie O'Brien returned to complete her Undergraduate Degree at the University of Connecticut when she was introduced to Yoga and was immediately immersed. As Katie practiced Yoga she realized the benefits that Yoga provided and wanted to share these experiences with others. She started to investigate the different forms of Yoga and found herself teaching an Introductory Svaroopa Class. As her experience and love of Yoga grew she decided to devote her time to becoming a Yoga Teacher. She completed her 200 Hour Teacher Certification Program at Lotus Gardens, and is a registered Yoga Alliance Teacher.

In class, Katie focuses on linking breathing with physical movement. This connection promotes a deep awareness of self and allows you to be completely present in your practice. Come and enjoy full breath and flowing movement with her.
